The First Time Through It is an indicator of quality and process that measures the proportion of parts, activities, or operations completed correctly on the first pass, without rework, corrections, or scrap.
FTT helps to understand how stable and effective a process is. If the value is low, it means the flow generates errors, rework, or interruptions; if it is high, it indicates that the work is flowing correctly and that the process is under control.
It is a useful KPI for connecting quality, efficiency, and problem solving. In Lean contexts, FTT helps to make hidden waste visible and to guide improvement actions on standards, training, maintenance, and daily management.
