WHEN PRODUCT QUALITY MEANS “PATIENT LIVES” BUT ALSO COMPETITIVENESS
Every year, tens of millions of valves for dialysis fistulas are produced at the Medolla plant of the Swedish multinational Gambro Dasco, located in the Mirandola biomedical district (the plant's total production is well over a billion components). The valves are key components in machines used for dialysis and blood treatment with disposable solutions. The complete absence of defective components, when a machine must “save a patient's life,” is a fundamental requirement that must be guaranteed with absolute certainty. Gambro Dasco's management asked the Bonfiglioli Consulting team to analyze the feasibility of simple, high-efficiency control equipment.
