People Development“, comprises the second pillar of the approach Lean World Class®.
It is a new human resources management tool to punctually design, plan, and deliver the training necessary to fill specific identified and measured skill gaps through the pillar of Cost Deployment. This pillar focuses precisely on identifying and reducing the existing gaps between demonstrated knowledge/skills and those that are necessary.
A practical example: a machine failure can be linked to a design error in the system, but the same failure can be connected to poor or inadequate maintenance; in practice, a lack of knowledge and skills constitute one of the main root causes of losses and waste.
Through this powerful tool, training interventions are no longer planned sporadically, which ultimately have little impact on the actual improvement of company performance., my specific training activities to disseminate the knowledge necessary for the application of technical pillar methods and tools and specific specialized technical knowledge in the role; human resource management knowledge is also developed to stimulate and channel the creativity of the resources present in the company.
The improvement of technical skills is thus firmly linked to manufacturing KPIs, making it concrete and measurable.
The goal is to transform the company culture from reactive to proactive through trained, responsible individuals (meaning they feel ownership of costs and company development) and motivated to work with a continuous improvement mindset.
