Heijunka (Production Leveling)

What is it?
Heijunka is production leveling: a Lean technique used to distribute workload volumes and mixes more evenly over time, reducing peaks, dips, and instability in the production system. The goal is to transform variable demand into a more regular and predictable rhythm, facilitating a stable flow.

How can I help?
Applying Heijunka helps reduce overloads, waiting times, urgent demands, and unnecessary inventory, thereby improving process stability and the ability to meet delivery times. It is particularly useful when a company wants to make planning more reliable and create the conditions for a Pull system and a more continuous flow.
