Case studies

This is a real case study on the implementation of Lean techniques in designing. Comer Industries is a worldwide leader in the design and production of advanced engineering systems and mechatronics solutions for power transmission. Lean Design is the approach defined by Comer Industries executives to face the new market challenges. Bonfiglioli Consulting has been appointed as change agent in this lean journey._

This case study describes a successful implementation of the Lean techniques within an head hunting agency.
The study highlights how given the increasing market competition, it is crucial for organisations to improve their overall performance not only in manufacturing, but also in all the other supporting services (data entry, procurement, bookkeeping, customer service….) to reduce overheads. In this respect Lean techniques, which have significantly improved performances in manufacturing, can be successfully implemented in the services sector with relevant customisations._

This case sudy describes Bonfiglioli Consulting’s activities in Arcotronics Ltd. Arcotronics is a world leading producer of plastic film, metallised plastic film capacitors, and EMC-RFI filters for suppression and filtering applications, with a global market share of around 8%. Arcotronics also produces a range of wet tantalum capacitors and power factor correction equipment. In 2002 the Lean Manufacturing program was firstly introduced and this has resulted in being awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade Category in 2005._

We would like to present to you the second part of our consulting experience in the American multinational company Snap-On Equipment as change agent in the global reorganization process across Europe. Our consulting activities involved the whole production process, from shop floor to final assembly including external suppliers. In this Part 2 we would like to illustrate in details our consulting activities in two manufacturing plants located in Italy_

This case study illustrates Bonfiglioli Consulting’s involvement at Snap-on Equipment. Snap-on is an American multinational company market leader in high-quality tool sand diagnostic machines for tyre dealers and garages, with a worldwide network. The project was part of the Group global stategy to completely restructure all the European plants, involving the complete production process, from initial shop floor to final asembly. Lean thinking approach has been adopted as the key driver for radical change within the company.

This real-life case illustrates what the Bonfiglioli Consulting team achieved in ADC, a world wide leading company (Fayat group) in design and production of metal constructions and mechanical power-lifts. The re-organization change project aimed at the solution of the long delivery times problem, and it involved mainly the production and assembly departments.  Great results were obtained by streamlining the whole manufacturing process.
